This course is intended for those students who have been working with “Keynote C2” during 2018 and have not completed the book in its entirety.  The course will delve into language and will analyse short stories written by classic and contemporary authors chosen by both the course's teacher and the group as a whole.

English Language and the American Dream
The course has been designed for advanced students to enhance their communicative and analytical skills through short stories, films and video clips presented in the context of "The American Dream" and western culture and society. Materials in previous courses have included contemporary short stories, literary nonfiction, Netflix and streaming TV episodes, short documentaries and feature films. “Death of a Salesman” is the play that will be used as the backbone of the course.

Enhancing Your Fluency
“Enhancing Your Fluency” is a 15-week course for advanced students which delves into broadening fluency by use of current media and texts, chosen by both the course's teacher and the group as a whole. Using materials created for an English-speaking audience, nuance and stylistic choices of modern English usage take the spotlight, while students broaden their fluency in creative, valuable ways. Materials in previous courses have included contemporary short stories, literary nonfiction, Netflix and streaming TV episodes, as well as short documentaries and feature films.

Moving Your Communication Skills Forward
The main objective of the course is to work with authentic material and stories written by classic and contemporary authors.  Materials in previous courses have included contemporary short stories, literary nonfiction, TED Talks, Netflix and streaming TV episodes, as well as short documentaries and feature films.

On Films and Short Stories
The main objective of the course is to delve into stories and film adaptations of American and British literary authors. Short stories, films or books will be used to explore language and lexical areas in the light of literary analysis. Materials in previous courses have included short stories by William Boyd, Roald Dahl, Ray Bradbury, Somerset Maugham, Oscar Wilde, Raymond Carver, Patricia Highsmith, and films like “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The King’s Speech”. Theatre pieces like “Amadeus” and “War Horse” have also been part of previous courses.

  Advanced Plus

The main objective of the course is to deepen the analysis of the English language as students explore BBC-produced documentaries, classic dramas, and general interest programmes. Students will also delve into modern and up-to-date language by means of BBC Interviews shot in the streets of London. Short stories and/or a novel chosen by both the course's teacher and the group as a whole will also be read and discussed.
